2 Games Compilations Release List

PlayStation Collectors UK presents it’s 2 Games Compilations Release List  to help fellow collectors source the fullset.  These 2 Games Compilations were a series of twin pack games and were great value for money for any PS1 gamer.  They were released at the end of the economic lifespan of the original PlayStation and bundled some of the PS1’s hit games. All of these 2 Games Compilations featured white covers and spines which broke from the standard of Black Spines for the PS1 range of games in the PAL region.  All of the releases featured the artwork of the two games in the compilation on a white background with orange text “2 games”. The instructions for both games are combined in one single manual and the Disc’s were similar in appearance to Platinum releases with no disc artwork.

Bob the Builder - Can we fix it? Bob the Builder makes his PlayStation debut in a series of eight activities designed for children ages three and up. Each of the activities involves guiding one of the BBC television show's friendly construction vehicles or principal characters in the following tasks: Porcupine Rescue, Travis' Race Day, Plumbing Puzzle, Can We Build It? Bubble Trouble, Scary Spud, Wendy's Birthday, and Where's Pilchard? Each activity can be played at one of three difficulty settings to accommodate both younger and older players.

In Porcupine Rescue, players control the crane named Lofty as he fits pieces of pipe to match the shape of the underground tunnel so a family of porcupines can cross. Travis' Race Day involves racing against the cement mixer from an overhead view as either Scoop or Dizzy. Plumbing Puzzle consists of two activities where Bob must walk up to a radiator to fix leaks or repair old parts, while Can We Build It? Has players knocking down and then building a new bridge in two tasks featuring Lofty.

Bubble Trouble involves smoothing over bubbles in the pavement, and Scary Spud has players chasing away crows in Farmer Pickles' field. Wendy's Birthday is another activity divided into two parts. The first consists of a cake-building task where players decorate a cake with various toppings, candles, icing, and toy models. The second involves making Wendy dance using the control pad. Finally, Where's Pilchard? is a game of hide-and-seek as players listen to the cat's purring to help locate her whereabouts

- Choose activities by clicking on equipment in Bob's office
- Each activity includes voices and music from the television series
- Three difficulty levels help customize the challenge

Tweenies Game Time. Tweenies is a television programme aimed at young children, broadcast on the BBC. The programme is set in a nursery attended by the four Tweenies themselves: Milo, Jake, Bella and Fizz. They are supplemented by two adults, Max and Judy, and two dogs, Doodles and Izzles.

The original prototypes for the tweenies characters were designed by Sally Priesig of Mimics Productions; they were later re-scaled into two sizes for the characters shown on the series. In addition, Sally also designed the character costumes and was co-constructor/developer for the Tweenies' full-size puppets. The costume fabric comes from the US and was imported and dyed into their present colours; it is about the same thickness as fleece jumpers.

The show includes a "Tweenie Clock", with five circular lights arranged in a pentagonal shape with the lights denoting "news time" (orange), "messy time" (blue: art, sticking, painting), "song time" (yellow: generally nursery rhymes or children's classics), "telly time" (green; in some later episodes, this is also used when they use the computer) and "story time" (red). "Surprise Time" is a special time determined when all five lights glow. A button at the centre of the clock is pressed to select the activity that will be undertaken next.

It is currently being shown on CBeebies, the BBC's channel for young children.

The Playstation game is a collection of different mini games and features:
* Jake's Dot World - Fly your favourite Tweenie through a world where all the colour has been gobbled up
* Fizz's Disco - Help your Tweenie copy Fizz as she dances to the disco music
* Milo's Space Race - Race through space collecting the musical instruments. Then make your very own tune with them…
* Bella's Fairy Castle - Welcome to Bella's castle...but your Tweenie needs to collect a fairy costume to enter it!

Manufacturer's description:

Tweenies--Game Time on PlayStation is set to capture the imaginations of children aged three years and up with its selection of engaging activities. Guided by Milo, Jake, Fizz and Bella, young players will find the same sense of fun and involvement as in the bright and colourful BBC television series. Research undertaken by BBC Worldwide among children who watch Tweenies revealed that singing and dancing are major factors in the success of the show. Tweenies - Game Time builds on these core activities by drawing on the idea of building a fantasy world, involving players in a number of games which encourage imaginative interactive learning. Children get to pick their favourite Tweenies character, choose any of the following games then go off and create their own fantasy world:

Jake's Dot World: Fly your favourite Tweenie through a world where all the colour has been gobbled up by mysterious colour-eating monsters. Find all the objects that are black and white and put the colour back into them.

Fizz's Disco: Help your Tweenie copy Fizz as she dances to the disco music. Can you remember all the moves as she grooves around the dance floor? Players can also make up their own dance routine for their favourite Tweenie.

Milo's Space Race: Race through space in Milo's special rocket ship, collecting the musical instruments that are flying around you as you go before time runs out. Then make your very own tune with them.

Bella's Fairy Castle: Welcome to Bella's castle... but your Tweenie needs a fairy costume to enter it! Help your Tweenie collect parts of these costumes by completing puzzles and activities. The further you get through the castle, the more parts of the costumes you can collect.

Jonah Lomu Rugby is a computer and video game released in 1997. It was developed by Codemasters and published by Rage Software. It was released on the PC, PlayStation and Sega Saturn. Its title is a reference to noted All Blacks winger Jonah Lomu.

Jonah Lomu, as of 1995, is undeniably the best player in the game of rugby. As a member of the mighty All Blacks (in reference to the New Zealand national rugby team), Jonah is known amongst his fellow players as the 6'4, 19 stone right-winger that no one can stop.

Jonah Lomu powers his way onto the PlayStation along with 32 teams, all competing in one of the toughest sports in the world: rugby union.

In a game where tackling skills and the ability to run literally through a defense are measured, Jonah Lomu Rugby allows players to take the kicks, make the conversions, hit the tackle opportunities, command the line-ins, dominate the scrums, and make the moves on your opponents.

Modes include Friendly Match (a straightforward game of rugby), Tournament play for up to 16 teams, World Cup featuring pool and knockout matchups. Territories Cup, and Classic Match that allows gamers to recreate a game in rugby history.

The "In-Game Instructions" system provides not only onscreen visual indicators to show when you have the ball, but also instruction aids that outline which buttons do what in each particular situation. Other features include commentary provided by Bill McLaren and Bill Beaumont, detailed player attributes tracking weight, size, strength and skills, 32 world rugby teams including New Zealand, South Africa, England, France and Australia, simulated weather conditions and four-player same-screen gaming if you have access to a Multi Tap.

-Offside: Don’t advance towards the other team until the ball is out of a ruck or maul. A player who starts in front of a player who kicks the ball and advances towards/touches the oppisition is offside.
-In Goal: If the ball is kicked and lands in the in goal area a defending player may press O to ground the ball and have a drop kick restart from the 22. If a defender takes the ball dead (three sides of the in goal) it will result in a 5m scrum. If a defender is tackled in goal it is a 5m scrum. If an attacker kicks the ball dead it is a 22 restart. If the defender carries the ball back into the in goal area they can not ground the ball.
- Tackles: Don’t tackle someone if they are in the air or don't have the ball
-Rucks and Mauls: If you take to long to clear the ball from a ruck or maul, a scrum will be awarded to the defending team.

Easter Egg:
One of the 'unlockable' teams was a team called 'team Lomu' where all 15 players were Jonah. In the game Jonah was easily the best as he broke 80% of all tackles and was one of the fastest in the game. The team Lomu was practically unbeatable.

Bust A Move 2 - Bust-A-Move 2 is a puzzle game that involves clearing or "popping" groups of bubbles by creating matches of three or more. A pointing device at the bottom of the screen is used to aim and launch a randomly generated bubble toward others of the same color. Since launched bubbles can ricochet off walls, the challenge comes from estimating the angle you'll need to create potential matches.

Clear each stage before the ceiling reaches the screen's bottom and you'll safely advance. Challenge the computer or a friend to a split-screen, simultaneous match; test your aiming skills in a series of 130 puzzle levels; or race to clear screens as quickly as possible with the time attack option. The Bust-A-Move series is also known as Puzzle Bobble outside the U.S.

Compete against a variety of colorful computer opponents in best-of-three matches
Complete 30 rounds of pre-defined challenges in the Puzzle Game
Challenge a friend to a split-screen, bubble-popping showdown with custom options

Bust A Move 3DX - In the tradition of the Bust-A-Move series, Taito's Bust-A-Move '99 is a traditional puzzle game. The main objective is to destroy or get rid of (by dropping) all the bubbles located within the stage. Once you do this, you'll graduate to the next level.

While the premise may sound simple, the logic and execution is not. Using a "bubble shooter", you must aim and shoot your bubbles to the top of the screen so that you can bring three bubbles of the same color together. When you do this, the bubbles will pop. One way to earn points is to have the popping bubbles as well as the bubble that was shot fall off the screen (in multi-player, it puts these bubbles on your opponent's side). This also gives you a lot less bubbles to take care of.

Bubbles are constantly falling down. Popping them all in a short amount of time is necessary because the longer it takes you to pop them all, the faster they will drop. If you fail to clear out all the bubbles and they reach the bottom of the screen, the game is over.

Bust-A-Move '99 contains some new options never seen in the Bust-A-Move series. There are now special bubbles (star, metal and rainbow to name a few), obstructive bubbles and blocks and new backgrounds. You are also given the opportunity to create your very own stages with the create-a-level editor.

Manufacturer's description:
Think you've busted with the best?

Not until you've faced Bust-A-Move '99! With intense 2 player competition, all new graphics, and create-a-level mode, you've never busted bubbles like these! And with 8 new mysterious characters to save, you'll be bustin' like crazy to solve all the puzzles and send them home!
